Our Story

Maleixa was born from passion—passion for Brazilian culture, food, music, and the bold flavors that bring people together.

My curiosity about Brazil and its vibrant cuisine inspired me to dive deeper into the culinary arts. Wanting to understand the techniques and traditions behind great food, I attended culinary school to learn how to cook professionally. Along the way, I developed an even greater appreciation for the authentic ingredients that make Brazilian cooking so distinctive.

One ingredient stood out above the rest: the Malagueta pepper. A staple of Brazilian cuisine, it delivers a unique balance of bright flavor and fiery heat. Yet I discovered there were very few hot sauces that truly celebrated this iconic pepper and its Brazilian roots.

So I decided to create one.

The result is Maleixa—a Brazilian pepper sauce crafted to capture the passion, heat, and energy of Brazil. The name Maleixa is inspired by the malagueta pepper and the Portuguese word paixão (passion), blending the two ideas into a brand that represents both bold flavor and heartfelt inspiration.

Every bottle is made to bring people together around unforgettable meals and unforgettable moments. It’s a sauce that celebrates authentic ingredients, vibrant culture, and the belief that great food should awaken the senses.

From our kitchen in Long Beach, California, to your table, Maleixa brings the passionate spirit of Brazil to every meal.

Maleixa. A kiss of fire.
